The Hound of the Baskervilles

ダートムア高原。イギリス南西部の、自然のままの湿気の多い地域である。そこで道に迷い、柔らかな緑の草の上に倒れこむことはたやすい。屈強な人間でさえも行き倒れて命を失うことがある。一人の男が必死に走っている。男の後ろには大きな犬―悪夢のような、地獄から来た犬―が追いかけてきている。その男と、その無残な死を結びつけることができるのは、唯一人の人物だけである―偉大な探偵、シャーロック・ホームズ。
