友だちのような姉妹もいれば、そうでない姉妹もいる。時には愛よりも憎しみのほうが強い家族もある。カリンは美しく、たくさんの男友だちがいたが、姉のマルシアに意地悪になることもあった。姉妹が小さかった頃はお互い愛しあっていたかもしれないが、もうずいぶん昔のことだ。誰でもひとつは罪を犯すものだという。たとえば他人の傘を失敬したことがあるとか、万引きだとか、怒って誰かを殴ってしまうとか。ひょっとしたら誰かを殺してしまうことも…。
